Gaston Wilson, Sr.

Mr. Gaston Wilson, Sr., 84, of Blytheville transitioned from earth into eternity on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Mid South Health and Rehabilitation Center in Memphis, Tennessee.

Born April 16, 1932 to John and Laura Wilson, he was the fifth of their twelve children and was preceded in death by four brothers, five sisters and his wife, Adell Jones Wilson.

He spent his early years in Memphis where as a young man he united with New Bethel Baptist Church and later moved to Blytheville, uniting with Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Wilson was a professional Brick Mason.

He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Diane Wilson of Sun River Terrace, Ill. and Denise (Anthony) Stanley of Kankakee, Ill.;

Two sons, Gaston (Angela) Wilson, Jr. of Hiram, GA and Melvin (Dorothy) Wilson of South Bend, Ind.;

Three stepchildren, Maxine Willis of St. Louis, Mo., Bobbie Avery of Cleveland, Ohio and Charles Briggs of Blytheville;

Sister, Ernestine Mayham of Memphis, Tenn.;

Brother, Vol Wilson of Memphis, Tenn.;

Twelve grandchildren,

Sixteen great-grandchildren; and

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Wilson will be conducted at noon on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 809 East Main Street with Reverend Rickey Everett officiating and burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family will meet friends on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church.
