City leaders make case for tax proposal

Mayor James Sanders and three members of the Blytheville City Council held a public hearing at the former A.A.M.O.D. Building Saturday morning before approximately 25 people -- about half of whom were employed in some way by the city -- to discuss what they believe to be a need for a new ½ cent Public Safety Tax. If approved, the tax would sunset in 10-years with an option to be renewed.
