Board certifies runoff results
Friday, December 2, 2016
The Mississippi County Election Commission met Friday morning for the purpose of certifying the three municipal runoff elections held in the county on Tuesday. A total of seven provisional ballots were presented to the board and all were counted as valid votes. Three of them were from students that had requested absentee ballots, but had not received them in time before leaving campus for the holiday, therefore they voted in person on a provisional ballot. The other four were challenged by someone at the time they attempted to vote, but nevertheless were all deemed to be legitimate votes.
