LaVerne D. Pollard Pegue

Mrs. LaVerne D. Pollard Pegue, 80, of Blytheville passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Methodist Hospital in Memphis. She was born in Blytheville to the late Joseph and the late Pauline Pollard. She was a graduate of Richard B. Harrison High School and had been employed at the Blytheville School District as a paraprofessional/teacher's aide for nearly 20 years. As a young child she joined Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church and in later years she joined the Main Street Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by five brothers Robert, Joe, Racine, James and Alvin, three sisters, Mildred, Pauline, and Velma and one son William Todd Harris.

Mrs. Pegue leaves her husband, Carl Pegue of the home;

Two sons, Ronney (Sandra) Harris of Springboro, Ohio and Carl (Karren) Pegue of Springdale, Ark.;

Three daughters, Sylvia Harris of Van Nuys, Calif., Lorraine Harris and Wanda Rozar both of Valencia, Calif.;

Three brothers, Elmer (Sadie) Pollard of Porter, Ind., Paul (Patricia) Pollard of Huber Heights, Ohio and George (Alice) Pollard of Columbia, Tenn.;

Eight grandchildren;

Three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jamison and Ayva; and

Many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Southside Church of Christ on Franklin and Clinton Streets with Bro. Jesse Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 at the McDonald Horne Funeral Home in Blytheville.
